Retail Energy Forum

Our forum

The Retail Energy Forum (REF) is a collection of leading UK Retailers with a combined £1.7bn annual energy spend across 30,000 properties. REF’s aim is: “to share best practices to reduce the carbon footprint of every member company”.

REF was formed in 2006 and has worked closely with the government in the development of energy policies to support the UK’s transition to a low-carbon economy.

REF concentrates on sharing practical measures that result in real and measurable energy and carbon reduction.

Applications from UK-based retailers to join REF are welcome.

“Iceland has been signed up to Retail Energy Forum (REF) for years and as a newcomer into the organisation I was expected to attend quarterly meetings. On my first meeting I realised how valuable it can be sitting in the same room with organisations facing the same issues and challenges as you and exchanging best practice. The workshops on appropriate issues is added value to the service, highly recommended.”

Thomas
